The 2020 OC Fair will not take place this summer because of ongoing concerns about the coronavirus and uncertainty about when the state may lift its ban on large events. It was scheduled to run July 17 through Aug. 16.
The giant Ferris wheel, numerous and varied deep-fried and foods on a stick, and bands covering the likes of Fleetwood Mac and U2, are a summer tradition for many. The event also pumps cash into the local economy and provides jobs for teens, retirees and school employees who have summers off.
Held annually in Costa Mesa, the 2019 Fair attracted 1.39 million visitors over its 23-day run. First launched in 1890, the fair was last canceled from 1942 to 1947 because of World War II.
For Summer 2020, the OC Fair has created the OC FAIR & EVENT CENTER ONLINE.
Enjoy videos of the fair’s favorite performers, photo galleries of summer memories, family activities, contests, and more. You can learn how to create crafts at home, see how deep-fried Oreos are made, take a tour of Centennial Farm, decipher a magic trick, and get the best garden pesto recipe from OC Fair staff and partners. Even the annual Fun Run 5K has gone virtual with actual prizes for winners.

If you purchased tickets for 2020 OC Fair events, here are your options:
1. You can retain your 2020 ticket for the 2021 date. For this option, no action needs to be taken; simply bring your ticket to the performance on the new date and they will be honored. Your ticket will include same-day admission to the 2021 OC Fair.
2. You can request and receive a refund until Nov. 30, 2020.
If you purchased through Ticketmaster, please login to your Ticketmaster account. There you will see a “refund” button. Click this button to request a refund for the rescheduled event. If you have any questions regarding your Ticketmaster order, please call them directly at 1-800-653-8000. Alternatively, log into your account and choose the “Live Chat” option.
