Maybe you’ve noticed the new sculptures at Civic Center Park at the Newport Beach Civic Center. Installed in June, they are Stage IV of the Sculpture Exhibitioncreated by the Newport Beach Arts Commissionand will remain there for two years. The 14-acre site was specially designed by renowned landscape architect Peter Walker as an intended sculpture garden, and Arts Orange Countyprovided professional services for the coordination of the artist selection and installation of the sculptures. Of the 10 new sculptures,“Slices of Heaven”by artist Craig Gray(shown here) was the sculpture most liked by the community when surveyed. Other sculptures include “Spy Boy”by David Buckingham, “Hurricane”by Ray Katz,“Wind Swept”by Lake Daffner,“Contender”by John Merigian, “Feathers in the Wind”by Alex G,and five others of note.
